Step 01

Download the .tar.gz

One file. 7.7 MB. No installer, no package manager. Linux x86_64.

Step 02

Extract and run it

Open a terminal in your Downloads folder. Two commands.

The binary is self-contained — no system libraries to install. Slint UI runs on Wayland and X11 out of the box.

On most distros you don’t need chmod +x — tar preserves the executable bit. If your shell complains, run chmod +x dreemdex-companion first.

$ cd ~/Downloads
$ tar -xzf companion-linux-x64-v0.1.0.tar.gz
$ cd companion-linux-x64-v0.1.0
$ ./dreemdex-companion

Step 03

Plug in your D10 (or just explore)

Companion finds the device the moment it shows up on the USB bus. You can also poke around the editor first — the device is optional for browsing.

That’s it. No setup wizard, no account creation. Companion talks to our server in the background to receive feature updates — nothing leaves your machine except telemetry on which screens you use.
